Ayia Napa is a place located on the south eastern coast of Cyprus, New Cape Greco. Which is located in the Mediterranean sea and is a very popular tourist destinations due to it favorable tropical weather.The Ayia Napa sea monster is know to the local fisherman as "to fillko teras" which translates to "the friendly monster" because it has never harmed a human in the history of its own monster folklore. "Many believers of the myth of the Ayia napa sea monster like to link it with the common mythological sea monster called Skylla." (fortean.wikidot)
Skylla was a monstrous who would kill six men aboard any ship that would be foolish enough to sail to close to her home in a cave located on a water cliff. the Scylla is also the other name for the monster and was also mentioned in Homer's epic story The Odyssey which would snatch up and eat six of Odysseus's men. To this day "spotting the monster remains a highlight for tourist on boating trips in the area." (ayanapa)
